Summary/Notes: Cedric and Fleur know they can't stay together, but they don't listen. They're forced to stay apart and they'll do anything to see each other again. But when Fleur finds out about Cho, she becomes angry with him.

Chapter 1 (R) - Caught Red-Handed



Cedric Diggory was lying on his bed at Hogwarts, his hands holding his head. He couldn't get her out of his mind. Every time he would think about something else, Fleur just popped back into his thoughts, again and again. It was nearing two in the morning and he couldn't drift off into sleep as hard as he tried. Ernie, a fellow Hufflepuff, was tossing in his sleep, murmuring random things, which didn't help Cedric at all. He sighed and finally pulled the covers over his head, closed his eyes, and blocked out all thoughts unwillingly. Within an hour he was snoring.

"Wake up, zleepy head! It is four in ze morning and I am 'ere to zee you!"

Cedric stirred. Did he just hear what he thought he heard?

"Zedric!" Fleur pounced on him playfully and planted a sweet kiss on his wet lips. Cedric scratched his head, making his hair stick up slightly. "Fleur, how did you get here?" Cedric responded

"You are not 'appy to zee me?" Fleur looked disappointed until Cedric shook his head sleepily. "Oh, no, I'm very excited to see you, I just don't understand how you could get into my dormitory, or the common room..."

Fleur smiled, "I used ze floo powder! My little sister 'ad some left and gave it to me, so I used it to zee you!" She slid underneath the covers with him and hugged him, noticing he was shirtless. "Ah, Zedric, being a naughty boy when I wasn't 'ere, I zee?" Cedric brought his lips to hers for a moment, wrapping his arms around her small waist. "No, this is how I always sleep. Say, Fleur, did anyone see you here?" Cedric looked around the dormitory; everyone appeared to be sleeping. Fleur shook her head, resting it against his chest. "No, I don't think zo..." "Good," he kissed the top of her head and held her in his arms as they fell asleep together.

"Ooh, Cedric's got a new girlfriend!" Ernie snickered, waking them both up. Fleur rubbed her eyes and looked to him. "And who are you?" Cedric glared at him. "That's Ernie, a very trusting boy who won't tell anyone that you are visiting and that I am going out with you, right, Ernie?"

Ernie was silent, then he burst into laughter. "That is so funny, Cedric! Hahaha!" Cedric glowered once more. "Oh um, right, yeah. I won't tell anyone. It'll be our little secret. Good thing no one else saw you, it's Saturday, and everyone ran off to Hogsmeade."

Cedric groaned, remembering his date with Cho in The Three Broomsticks. Ernie gulped. "Uh oh...listen, did you tell her, Cedric?" Cedric shook his head. "No, I haven't..." "Tell me what?" Fleur asked pleadingly.

Cedric motioned for Ernie to leave and he did as he was told. Cedric swung his legs off the bed and stood up. He gazed at her. "You look very beautiful, Fleur..." Fleur stood up as well; she was wearing jeans and a tank top, her hair was a complete mess, and she had no make-up on. "Zedric, do not change ze subject. Tell me, what do you 'ave to say?"

Cedric sighed. He grabbed her hand and rubbed it. "Before you and I became serious...I already had a steady girlfriend. Then, over the holidays, as we got to know each other, I realized I loved you and wouldn't trade you for the world." Fleur smiled a bit. "But what about ze other girl? Did you zeparate?"

Cedric shook his head. "I completely forgot about her until now. I had plans to meet her in Hogsmeade today, like on a date, but I don't want to go. I'll have to break up with her, but if she finds out you are here, she might try to do something to you."

"So you 'ave been two timing 'er with me?" Fleur teared up, causing her face to go red and her eyes to swell slightly. "I am dizgusted with you, Zedric. I thought you loved me." Fleur wiped her eyes as she sobbed. Cedric held out his arms but Fleur pushed him away. "Fleur, no, I forgot about her, I'm going to break up with her later..." "It doesn't matter, Zedric! You were dating 'er while dating me! It's over between us!" Cedric opened his mouth to speak but Fleur interrupted him. "I can't believe myself, how I could never zee that you loved someone else..." Fleur ran out of the dormitory, leaving Cedric speechless and heartbroken. What did I do wrong? he asked himself silently.

Cedric walked into The Three Broomsticks sullenly, and there she was, sitting beautifully in the corner with her hair in a messy bun, smiling exuberantly, Cho Chang. Cedric took a deep breath as he walked to her table. She stood up and leaned in for a kiss, but Cedric pushed her away. "Cho, I have to tell you something."

Cho frowned and sat back down. Cedric sat in the chair across from her. "I think we need to break up."

"What? Why?" Cho said, confused. Her and Cedric's relationship had been great for the past few months. She didn't understand why Cedric would break up with her, unless there was another girl.

Cedric clutched his arm. "Well, you see, there's another girl and...I love her. Don't get me wrong, Cho, I love you too, but more like a sister than a girlfriend. And well, I just think we should end this now before you get too deep in this thing and-"

"What? Before I get too d-deep? Cedric, I'm already there!" Cho yelled, her cheeks glistening. "You p-promised me we would get married a-after Hogwarts! And you're just going to c-crush our future together w-when we were doing perfectly fine? Some g-girl comes along and you just f-forget about me!" She buried her face in her hands and stood up. "I'm going to e-end this, Cedric. I c-can't believe y-you! After all you said, I j-just don't b-believe it!" Cho ran out bawling, leaving everyone in the room staring at Cedric. He blushed. "Um, she had a bad butterbeer, that's all..." He rubbed his forehead. Now he had two girls regretting his existence in their lives. And now, he was starting to even regret his own existence.
